By accessing or using The Colosseum ("the Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Platform.
The Colosseum is a live audio debate and opinion platform operated by PASTE_COMPANY_LEGAL_NAME_HERE ("we," "us," "our").
You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. Users under 18 are classified as minors and may have restricted access to certain features.
If you are under 18, you represent that your parent or legal guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms on your behalf.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.
You may not create accounts for the purpose of manipulating debates, votes, predictions, or leaderboards. Violations result in permanent suspension.
One account per person. Multi-accounting is prohibited.
You retain ownership of content you create on the Platform (hot takes, debate arguments, audio recordings). By posting, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, display, distribute, and create derivative works from your content for the purpose of operating and promoting the Platform.
You agree not to post content that is illegal, threatening, harassing, defamatory, obscene, or violates the rights of others.
All debates conducted on the Platform may be recorded, transcribed, and stored. By participating in a debate, you consent to this recording.
Recordings may be used for moderation, dispute resolution, platform improvement, and — in aggregated, anonymized form — for data analytics purposes.
Paid subscriptions (Contender, Champion, Creator) are billed monthly or annually via Stripe. You may cancel at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
Token purchases are non-refundable once used. Unused tokens remain in your account until used or account deletion.
We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days' notice to active subscribers.
You agree not to: manipulate Elo ratings or debate outcomes; use bots, scripts, or automated tools; harass, threaten, or doxx other users; impersonate another person; attempt to access other users' accounts; exploit bugs rather than reporting them; use the Platform for illegal activities.
We reserve the right to moderate content, suspend or terminate accounts, and take any action necessary to maintain platform integrity. Moderation decisions may include warnings, mutes, temporary bans, or permanent bans.
Appeals may be submitted via PASTE_SUPPORT_EMAIL_HERE.
The Platform may offer prediction features using virtual tokens. These are not real-money gambling. Token predictions are for entertainment purposes only and have no cash value outside the Platform.
The Colosseum name, logo, design, and underlying technology are owned by us. You may not use our trademarks without prior written consent.
Your use of the Platform is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your information.
The Platform is provided "AS IS" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee uptime, accuracy of content, or that the Platform will meet your expectations.
User-generated content reflects the views of individual users, not of The Colosseum.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Platform.
Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be resolved through binding arbitration in PASTE_JURISDICTION_HERE, except where prohibited by law.
We may update these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated via the Platform or email. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

The Colosseum is built for strong opinions, heated debate, and real disagreement. That's the point. But there's a line between arguing hard and causing harm. These guidelines define that line.
Go after the take, not the person. "That's a terrible argument because..." is fine. "You're a terrible person because..." is not. Ad hominem attacks, slurs, threats, and personal harassment will result in immediate action.
Content that promotes violence, discrimination, or hatred based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or national origin is prohibited. No exceptions.
Never share another user's personal information (real name, address, phone number, workplace, school) without their explicit consent. This is a permanent ban offense.
Don't use multiple accounts, bots, or coordinated groups to manipulate votes, predictions, or debate outcomes. Don't intentionally lose debates to boost another account's Elo.
Don't use the Platform to plan, promote, or facilitate illegal activity. Don't threaten violence. Don't share illegal content.
Moderators are community members who volunteer their time. Follow their instructions during debates. If you disagree with a moderation decision, use the appeals process — don't harass the moderator.
Warning → Mute (24h) → Temp Ban (7d) → Permanent Ban. Severe violations (threats, doxxing, hate speech) skip directly to temp or permanent ban.
The Colosseum exists because disagreement is valuable. We want the smartest, most passionate arguments — not the loudest or cruelest. Argue like you want to convince, not like you want to destroy. The best debaters win with skill, not cheap shots.
